Guide Commentary

If you’re after a genuine Italian spot right in Sofia’s center, Cibo nel Camino quietly wins locals over with its cozy vibe on Neofit Rilski Street. It’s not flashy but feels like a home away from home with warm lighting and attentive, down-to-earth service that makes you want to linger. The kitchen nails classics like their three-meat ravioli and ribeye steak, prepared with care and quality ingredients that give a real taste without overwhelming portions. Prices here are reasonable for the quality, making it a solid pick for a relaxed dinner with friends or a casual date night. Locals appreciate its balance of authentic flavors and friendly atmosphere—no fuss, just good food and good company in a neighborhood spot that feels like a little secret tucked inside Sofia’s heart.

A fantastic Italian restaurant with amazing food. The service was nice and friendly, however there is some room for improvement. It would have been good to be informed when kitchen closes is near as we missed out on the dessert since by the time we wanted to order it had closed. The staff did offer afterwards for them to serve the dessert, however the one we wanted was the more intricate one that needed prep for and they had run our of the portions for the day. We did come 2 days after their summer vacation so I don't think their stock was full. When ordering beer on the 2nd bottle they told us they had run out of that specific kind so we had to order another brand for the next round. I also don't think they have a bartender currently so the cocktails were a bit different as the waitress and even the manager were making them. The Moscow mule (Московско муле) was very strong with the taste of vodka being very prevalent. The Frosé is a fantastic cocktail, slightly sweet but mostly refreshing and light. The only difference noted was that some people received a strawberry on their cup and others didn't. I also tried the Hugo which was recommend as a more refreshing cocktail and it was fantastic as well. As for the food everything I tried was phenomenal. From the beginning we got a Compliment from the restaurant (Комплимент от ресторанта) which was like a mekitsa breadstick (fluffy fried dough). The only thing it was missing was a dip to go with it. Then I tried both types of bruschettas that they offer. The Bruschetta with parsley pesto (Брускети с магданозено песто) was my favorite. Fresh and light, while the Bruschetta with smoked burrata (Брускети с пушена бурата) was slightly heavier but still great. The other appetizer Italian "mekitsi" (Италиански "мекици") was similar to the compliment but because it is flatter and thinner it's lighter and with the ricotta, prosciutto and rucola it's a great starter. Lastly, but certainly not least the Risotto with smoked duck magret (Ризото с пушено патешко магре) as a main is praiseworthy. The risotto, cooked to perfection and the mixed mushrooms bring it a fantastic flavor. The duck is not a strong flavor but it perfectly compliments the dish and adds a great texture. Overall, a fantastic restaurant with amazing food. A bit more work on the service and everything would be perfect. Another thing I did notice is that there wasn't any air conditioning inside or at least it really didn't feel like it. I will definitely visit again after the summer season to see if anything has changed. 08.2025

A big well done and thank you to the chef and the gentleman who served us! The lady barista could improve her Aperol Spritz skills—especially considering the price; It tasted just watery more like lots of plain water and a little drops of Aperol and no prosecco or sparkling white wine or soda or sparkling water. (Minus one star for the Aperol, but everything else was amazing.) Overall, we really enjoyed our meal—everything was delicious, from the appetizer to the main course to dessert. Price: Prices were reasonable too;For all we ate and drank as seen in the pictures 135,50bgn. Service and staff: The service was fast, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I think it can hold a group of 12 and more but best to call them and confirm. Though just in 2, we booked in advance but when we arrived and finished our meal(dinner),there were just few people in the restaurant ;but you can sit inside or outside. We wouldn’t mind returning here again. Thanks!

We just had food recently in Italy and the 3 meat ravioli was better than many places we went to in Rome. Portions are a little small but two courses are expected.

If you're looking for an exceptional Italian dining experience in the center of Sofia, this restaurant is a must-visit. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a cozy meal or special occasion. To our surprise and delight, we received a complimentary starter from the restaurant – soft, doughy delights (мекици) shaped like breadsticks (grissini), which set the tone for the rest of the meal. The food was not only beautifully presented, but each dish was art fully arranged and full of authentic, rich flavors. Each bite felt like a taste of Italy. The service was impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff who made sure we had everything we needed. Their professionalism and knowledge of the menu further enhanced the dining experience. In summary, this Italian restaurant offers a perfect combination of excellent food, stylish presentation, and top-tier service. Highly recommended for anyone seeking quality Italian cuisine in Sofia!
