A very interesting interpretation of Bulgarian dishes, mixed with modern cooking methods and ingredients. The presentation was always on point and the dishes looked great. If you are lucky enough, chief Andre will personally come and serve you or flambe your desert. The only complaint that I had was that they actually ran out of vodka 😂
Loved the location of the restaurant and the atmosphere. The staff was kind. The wait was a bit long, we had the tasting menu with non alcoholic drinks and it took more than 2 hours. Loved the chocolate cake dessert and the presentation of it, so majestic. Also liked the snails with caviar. Really light and tasty. Salad was also quite refreshing, the paired zucchini was delicious. Hated the duck confi with strawberries, the strawberries were tart and sweet which was okay but the duck with it… the harmony was not there and the huge chunks of pepper were not nice. The spinach purée with elda was okay. The main course which was some kind of fish was not bad, I found a bone in there which was not the best but the sauce was AMAZING. They also served us a platter of cheeses and the truffle honey was to die for, would swim in that honey. The chocolate assortments were also okay. The non alcoholic drinks were good but I didn’t like the non alcoholic rum and wine. They were really watery and weird tasting but the mocktails were really nice. I feel like most of the dishes were okay but the harmony was kind of off. But tbh definitely not bad and the server was really kind. The chef even introduced himself towards the end of dinner and he was really lovely, had a bit of chat with us which was cute. Would recommend if you want more of a fine dining experience but definitely didn’t get the French aspect of it, it was more so well polished Bulgarian cuisine with French influenced dish presentation
Had a wonderful experience. It was cold outside, but warm and lovely inside. Excellent service, the presentation was unique, and tastes were amazing.
ANDRé in Sofia is a true culinary treasure, seamlessly combining creativity with a sense of comfort. The dishes are both inventive and grounded in local products and flavors, each presented with artistic flair. The modern and welcoming atmosphere is complemented by attentive service, and Chef André Tokev frequently engages with guests, adding a warm, personal touch. Very nice experience!
Excellent! We had the tasting menu and the food was great. But I feel the portion was a bit too much, and I feel a little bloated after eating all the courses. The service was impeccable. It was so done with one person when We were there. That was pretty impressive.
