# ARIA Restaurant Sofia: The City's Most Photogenic Culinary Moment ARIA is where Sofia's food scene gets its glow-up. This isn't your grandmother's fine dining—it's modern Bulgarian cuisine with serious international flair, plated like edible art that stops your phone scroll mid-swipe. The space itself is Instagram gold: sleek, minimalist vibes with elegant lighting that makes every dish pop on camera. Chef Atanas Balkanski's creative touch (he's behind the buzz-worthy Panchetata too) means you're getting dishes that actually taste as stunning as they look. Expect playful interpretations of classics—like their signature Bulgarian salad reimagined with unexpected flair—alongside inventive meat and fish options that change with the season. The service strikes that perfect balance: attentive without hovering. Priced at the premium end but delivering genuinely excellent presentation and flavor execution, it's worth the splurge for special occasions or that one night you want everything to feel elevated. Central location, reservations recommended, especially weekends.

Really good find in the city centre, right next to Vitoshka. Having already tried “Panchetata” by Atanas Balkanski, we thought we should definitely check out his other creations at ARIA. We definitely weren’t disappointed. Overall there were some tiny bits we would change about the food, but it was all delicious in the end. Presentation was also quite interesting and was definitely focused on. Our waiter (sadly we didn’t see his name tag) was absolutely lovely and made some good suggestions about the food and wine, the latter of which we also enjoyed. The restaurant itself was also quite elegant but also cozy. We would love to visit again to try some of the other dishes!
An utterly enchanting experience from start to finish. Every element, from the impeccable service to the exquisite cuisine and captivating atmosphere, deserves a full five stars. It's clear that this establishment is the product of immense passion, tireless effort, and a profound love for the culinary arts.
Great ambience and service. Modern looking plates, however the taste was not really there. The salad had some weird tomato sauce like ketchup, and the same sauce was in the pork. The dessert “Temptation” was very good!
Interesting restaurant, very central location, beautiful inside. Service is good, non-obtrusive. Food is good, but if it dialed back the pretentiousness, it could be better but then they couldn't charge these somewhat unrealistic prices. Allergens are marked on a separate menu, ask for it. You can find some options if you're gluten free and dairy free and vegan but there could be more. Didn't ask if they were willing to do any modifications, so i don't know. Have a reservation or they will turn you away even mid-week. Good experience overall.
The atmosphere was stylish and relaxing and the service was friendly and welcoming. What was the star of the experience though was the food! Excellent presentation and especially the taste! Everything was well balanced and flavorful. I highly recommend the duck and the chocolate desert. Definitely a restaurant worth visiting!
