Amazing restaurant! We walked past it and chatted to a lovely waiter who put no pressure on us, he simply introduced the food and concept. We liked his interaction so much that we cancelled our other booking and came back. We tried a bunch of smaller dishes and cocktails and everything was great. Really recommend the oysters with a unique mint sauce. Nothing like I ever tasted! Would definitely come back if I go back to Budapest ❤️
⭐ 1-star review 📍 Opium Restaurant – Disappointing Experience I visited Opium to celebrate a friend’s graduation and was truly disappointed by both the food and service. We ordered shrimp dim sum as a starter, and what arrived was visibly raw and gelatinous in the center — totally uncooked and unsafe to eat. I called the waitress and showed her the dumpling, and they replaced it, but the second serving was rubbery and overcooked. What made things worse was the manager’s unprofessional attitude. Instead of acknowledging the issue and offering a proper apology or solution, they acted like it was no big deal. No real apology, no offer to take the dish off the bill — just indifference. This experience left a bad impression, especially for what should have been a celebratory evening. I expected much better from a place like this. If you care about food safety and respectful service, I’d think twice before dining here.
The servers are very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is soo calming. The design is very very pretty!!!!!!!!!! Don’t leave before trying the Vietnamese Vodka (Nep Moi)
Fantastic place! Waiters are soo kind, the food is very delicious and the cocktails are just great! We went there to celebrate birthday and they were really helpful. Highly recommend! Thank you!
Lovely atmosphere with a great selection of Asian dishes and excellent, friendly service. It really feels like dining in a high-end Thai or Vietnamese restaurant. They’ve also opened a sushi place nearby—you can order from there too, which adds even more variety to the already extensive menu. It was also a nice touch to try their homemade kombucha.
