When it comes to the food quality, I’d just say: you have to try it, period. But I want to talk about other details like the amazing energy you get from the staff from the moment you walk in until they take your order. It’s clear that every single person puts their full passion into the process. Despite the small space, the restaurant is designed in an incredibly creative way, with a Star Wars theme scattered throughout. The menus are written in chalk on blackboards mounted on the walls. As they call themselves, it’s a “street restaurant” but not like the typical ones that are crowded, messy, and unorganized. Here, it’s the highest possible quality. Loyal to the spirit of street dining, they operate with constant, uninterrupted speed and efficiency. This is, without a doubt, the best street restaurant in Budapest by far.
This small stall dishes out incredible baguette sandwiches and is a must try during your visit to Budapest. It’s conveniently located near a bunch of ruin bars so you can stop by before or after for some of the best food you’ll ever experience in your life. I tried the Töki Pompás - garlic sour cream mangalica sausage, roasted bacon, red onion, and cheese. The mangalica sausage steals the show. The sausage is made from the mangalica pig that’s native to Hungary. It’s super delicious! If you still have room for more, try any of their soups. All of them are amazing!
The lentil Hungarian soup is different and tasty they even had Hungarians and Mexican salsa I am on the Bors side. Thankful of experience quality local street Food.
Excellent Hungarian sandwich and the soup 🍲 was incredible! We really liked for the quality, taste and price. Plus the staff are super friendly.
As someone who was born and raised in Hungary this is hands down the BEST food place in Budapest and it hardly gets any better. I love you Bors Gasztrobar since I was 14. I am 22 now and I will never stop coming back. You have never ever disappointed me, and to be frank you just impress me more from time to time. I got the mac n cheese pasta yesterday which was the BEST mac and cheese I’ve ever tried!!! Not stingy with the cheese at all with yummy bacon bits. Had the apple pie soup which brought back warm memories to a dear friend’s homemade apple pie. I love that the soups always have some surprise bits such as pie crumbles or meat if I were to order a savory soup. I am never scared to bring a friend here because nobody, not even my picky eater friends can say a bad word about you Bors. And this is the only food place my friends bring their other friends, that’s how good it is. In addition, I had the philly steak baguette which was good, but my all time fav is probably the pulled pork one. I couldn’t really taste the jalapeno. I wish you guys expanded because a terrace would be really nice. Oh and prices are cheap. It’s very worth it. It used to be insanely cheap but inflation got the best of all of us. I paid 7.43€ (2950 FT) for a half baguette + soup menu. My friend paid similarly for the mac n cheese pasta and water. Service is fast (even during rush hour) and they’re kind and energetic.
