Where Plovdiv Locals Actually Eat.

Guide Commentary
If you want a real Plovdiv evening, skip the crowded spots and head to Philippopolis. Locals love it for the relaxed garden under old trees, where you can actually hear yourself talk. The vibe is easygoing—classy but never stiff, with music that’s just right and staff who treat you like a regular. The seafood orzo is a must, and everything feels fresh without being fussy. Prices are fair, especially if you go midweek when it’s quieter. It’s the kind of place where friends meet up, families celebrate, and you leave feeling like you’ve had a proper night out, not a tourist show.

Food - okay. The menu is rather poor. I can't say much about the food quality because I only received 1 thing from my order. Bruschețe. Not the best I've had, not the worst. Mediocre. My main course was forgotten by the staff. According to our waiter, the cheff didn't understand that there was an order. And, obviously, the waiter didn't see fit to bring that to his attention. After waiting nearly one hour for my food and inquiring on its whereabouts, the waiter simply said that it has been forgotten. And asked whether I want to order it again or cancel... No apology, no attempt at improving the customer experience through a compensation or anything. As for the staff, we were served by 3 different people, so it was quite chaotic. At the moment, in the whole restaurant, there were a total of 3 tables occupied. Can't imagine what it's like when it's full. Must be logistics and service nightmare. Suffice to say, we're neither going back there nor recommending the place.
Food is fresh and beautifully plated. The seafood orzo is not to be missed. They stream good music from classic rock to pop. View is impeccable and there is rolling shade over the garden tables for shade. Make sure you walk through the Fine Art Gallery & Museum where they feature many find paintings from 1800 to pre-soviet era. The room upstairs have classic hand crafted wood furniture. Impressive collection of art.
The steak and salad was not bad. But the service needs serious improving. We asked to recommend a local wine but the waitress had no clue and we had to wait for another 5 mins for another gentleman to order wine. Then we ordered 4 steaks and after long waiting we were served only 1 steak...they completely messed up with the orders....eventually we waited 1.5 hour for the meals to be served....it was supposed to be a quick dinner.
Starting with the perfect location; in the middle of the oldtown. It would also have a great view from the garden in nice weather. Interior design is classical but not boring. Service was one of the best. Food was delicious. Strongly recommend goat cheese with wine as starter. In plovdiv, this restaurant is by far the best.
Extremely good food for very reasonable prices. It took a while to arrive but was well worth it. Would visit again very quickly
