I'd give this place 1000/5 stars if I could; just an incredible experience all around. The fish was so crispy and well-seasoned (adding the garlic & olive oil is a must) and the views are just unmatched. Lots of locals come in on boat across the lake and that also adds to the atmosphere. If it's a nice sunny day like it was this afternoon then this is the place to be.

Good food and amazing views! Popular local spot right along the lake. Reservations are only available for large groups so you will wait for a table. Wonderful atmosphere and good local food. English menus are available. We enjoyed the Weiner schnitzel and fried chicken (a specialty of the house), but the Pofesen desert was over the moon! Fried dough with fruit or Nutella filling and ice cream. Just try it! Parking is available up the road - walk down from there to the restaurant.

The food is absolutely amazing — authentic Austrian cuisine with generous portions. We ordered the fish of the day, and it was fantastic! It came with big everything salad, making it a very satisfying meal. This place is a hidden gem, and I definitely recommend visiting if you’re in the area!

Great little place on the very shore of the lake with a fantastic view of the lake, mountains and Hallstatt. Food is amazing (the salad with the Wienerschnitzel was the best we ever had), fantastic local desserts and the staff is super friendly and helpfull. We’ll sure be back next time we visit the area!

6/5 stars if I could! Food was exceptionally tasty and portion sizes were great! We ordered the trout, samlet (young salmon), and Wiener schnitzel, as well as the Pofesen (doughnut like pastry with Nutella filling) - everything was perfect! The fishes were extremely fresh and cooked perfectly, the schnitzel was juicy and crunchy, the mixed salad was generously big and contained a lot of ingredients! Pofesen was just unbelievably amazing! Probably one of the best meals we have in Austria! To top it off, the views from the restaurant is stunning! You get to see views of the lake (and probably even more mesmerising if the weather was better)!
