I had lunch by the window on a sunny winter day. I had great friends, the weather was nice, and it was a happy and enjoyable time. The food and service were also good. As you can see, I travel a lot around the world and write reviews often. I've reviewed many restaurants in Graz, and this one is definitely worth recommending. There are seasonal menus, and each waiter has their own unique style, but it was a very comfortable time. If you're wondering whether to try the local food, just come here and ask~~^^;;;
I had a late lunch there today and I was very disappointed in the food. The salad was swimming in dressing, so much so that I waited till the lettuce on my fork quit dripping before I ate it. I love steak tartar, I order it all over town. But, today's was the worst tasting tartar I have ever had in Graz, period. Both dishes were left un-eaten. I politely explained why I could not eat the tartar, told them they could remove the plate, and asked for the check. There was an excuse given about the cherry tomatoes that garnished the tartar causing the odd taste. Huh? There was no apology and no compensation. Today's lunch was a VERY expensive basket of bread. I will not return.
Located near the center, upscale restaurant with Styrian and international cuisine. Good selection of dishes - seasonally matched. The dishes were very good in taste and visually appealing gratin. The staff was trained and distinguished according to expectations. Gladly again.
Breakfest was not a pleasant experience. No table ready, nobody around for 5 minutes. Tables were not clean. Nobody came later to us if we need anything. Summary: full self service meal in not pleasant environment.
The Parkhotel is truly an elegant and posh hotel located close to the Stadtpark, which is Graz‘ Central Park, and right opposite the University of Music and Performing Arts, which was the town Palais of the Archduke Johann, the brother of the Austrian Emperor. This hotel provides seminar rooms as well as great food. The price of the dishes served in the Parkhotel restaurant is residing in the upper price segment but you get high quality for your money. The staff is friendly and willing to help and since implemented in a hotel they are briefed to and used to speak English to their international guests. So that is quite convenient. And at the main entry of the hotel you are welcomed by a Saint Florian statue. Not only therefore but also because of the family name of the hotel owner family is Florian, the hotel’s restaurant is called Restaurant Florian. I had a beef filet in sauce with Serviettenknödel (sliced bread dumpling) together with fresh green salad with pumpkin seed oil on top of it. The filet comes with Preiselbeermarmelade (cranberry marmalade) which is typical for Austria and very popular as it gives a sweet taste to your meat. With Love! Dr. Dr. Immanuel Fruhmann
