This was certainly not your usual "pre-match" (Women's Euro 2025, England Women vs. Wales Women) meal. I decided to splash out on the five course "surprise menu" with accompanying wine for each course. It was a truly fantastic meal, a visual as well as culinary treat. I enjoyed every course but if I had to choose two stand-outs they would have to be the beetroot gazpacho with feta cheese and the sea bass on potato salad. The fish was a dream with a crispy, flavorsome skin and tasty succulent flesh. Perfection on a plate! The five wine servings suited each course perfectly. They were not wines I remember coming across before. Sometimes powerful and almost challenging but always delicious and perfectly matched to the course in question. I was served by all three members of staff. They worked together seamlessly and were all knowledgeable and very friendly. I had a very pleasant table in the shade outside. Luckily the weather was perfect too. The five course menu was just under CHF 100 and the wine was around CHF 65. Given the quality of food and wine both seemed extremely reasonable to me. The football match was far too one-sided so I left after 30 minutes or so, when England were already leading 3-0 (final result 6-1). I have to say that the meal I'd had beforehand was easily worth the trip from Zurich to St. Gallen all on its own. To state the obvious, highly recommended!
We found this place by a total accident and ended up being nicely surprised about the food. Their soup is a must-try!
Very nice authentic swiss restaurant. Great dishes with quality ingredients and preparation. Lovely inside and outside seating. Service is prompt, could be a bit more friendly at these prices. Nice in general
An absolute gem. Beautiful little restaurant with traditional Swiss food - the best I have had in restaurants. Highly recommend getting the rösti and the soup!!
On the expensive side, but superb food. We ordered still water, but they came and poured us glasses of sparkling water. Small mistake, so we didn't bother telling the waiter. No reason to waste water that was already poured. For appetizer we (2 people) shared a small portion of their artichoke ravioli. This dish was simply divine. Easily the best ravioli I've ever had. I joked to my partner that I could have another of that dish for dessert (spoiler: I didn't, but only because the meal was filling enough). It was also the highlight of our meal. For the main course I had the veal liver with rösti. It was very yummy and the rösti was nice and crispy. It was served in a separate pan, and the waiter scooped half of it out to put it on the pan with the liver for me. My partner had the secreto with gnocchi for his main course. I got to try a bit of it and it was also very good. All in all, it was a very yummy experience with the ravioli being the highlight.
