Soil restaurant

Excellent food, very refined and light dishes and great service. Dishes were genuine pieces of art, displayed on lovely ceramics crafted by the chef’s wife. It was not just looks. There were surprising and powerful combinations with extremely balanced flavours. I loved the lobster and the oyster was spectacular just to name two. Another knock out was the eel mini burger. And the goat and the amberjack, the list goes on! What sets this restaurant apart is the refined use of home grown herbs and spices. We went for a greek pairing. The sommelier poured us lovely greek wines that really complemented the dishes. I thought the mavrodaphne (if I spell that correctly) and the roditis were quite special! All in all: definitely worth a visit!

amazing food with incredible, warm service! everything was so creative and delicious. the add ons were definitely worth it - extra the lobster course was next level! don’t let them trick you into ordering the “special” birthday cake though (€8 pp for a small, completely undecorated chocolate cake with a single candle in it - when everything else has so much detail into it why would they do this?)

We decided to treat ourselves to a Michelin starred restaurant during our stay in Athens and were not disappointed! The service was very attentive and the dishes were served at a good pace. The plating was beautifully done with care and the food itself was outstanding. Absolutely recommended for a special night out!

Whenever we travel, my husband and I peruse the Michelin Guide to see what each city has to offer. After reviewing Athens’ list and doing some research, I could tell Soil was special. I booked the Chef’s Table Experience and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. From the time we rang the bell at the front door, we were treated like family and well cared for. We had 17 courses and did not do the wine pairing but we were able to choose our own wine within 200 euro. They gave us the offer of tasting the pairing options on top of our wine. Another guest at the table (6 seats total) had a beer pairing which was an awesome touch. Typically, with a tasting menu, there are 1 or more dishes that do not quite work or suit me. We did not have one bad dish. Each had a special touch and story and many of the ingredients came from Soil’s garden. Chef is very passionate about his craft. We went to another Michelin restaurant the previous night and they were different aesthetics and concepts but Soil was by far the winner. If you enjoy a culinary experience, please do not miss this one.
