We had a wonderful dinner in this restaurant! We took the fish starter for two that it was composed of a lot of really tasty grilled prawns, scallops and squids. I also had the grilled pike and I enjoyed it really much. I really wanted to come back another time before leaving Salzburg but unfortunately the restaurant is closed on Monday. I really suggest this place to have a good meal!
On our first night in Salzburg we dined here for the first time, and had a wonderful meal. The fish soup is a signature dish on their menu for 9 years and I can see why. It’s a delicate, light frothy curry cream base (just a ice warmth to it, not too spicy), and has apple and mango, and a generous amount of salmon and char fish. They also offered gluten free bread. I love seafood, and the mixed seafood platter for 2 people looked stunning, and enjoyed by the next table. It is served o Linder 2 people and since my husband doesn’t like seafood he had steak. The server suggested a mix of their grilled prawns and Calamari which are on the menu separately, but the chef prepared as a combination since I couldn’t do the mixed platter. My husband had the 160 gram filet with rosemary roasted potatoes. He is normally disappointed with steaks outside of the US, but really enjoyed this one. It was prepared perfectly. The server was fabulous, and the view out the window to Schloss Leopoldskron was lovely. My only disappointment was that it was too chilly to dine in the terrace, which of course was out of the restaurant’s control. I would definitely come back on a future trip and highly recommend!
The location is great near a lake, the view is better during the day. The service was amazing, wonderful staff and great ambiance. The food was just out of this world. The fish was cooked to perfection, the pasta just the way it should be served. Ended up with great coffee. For sure it was one of a great culinary experience.
Walked here from old town. Beautiful, hilly walk. However the astroturf, sketchy service and minimal menu were a disappointment. Steak filet over salted. View not what it is made out to be. And the mosquitos!!! They nearly lifted us away. Perhaps go for a drink. Or better yet, just go to Leopoldo schloss for a drink there. Prices are far too high for the quality.
We only ended up here as we couldn't get into the sound of music house that is now a hotel for a coffee It has great views of the lake and the rear of the house. However that's not why a gave it 5 stars that's because it has great food. My wife had the beef capacio to start which was fantastic. I had the prawns WeiherWirt which were well cooked with great flavour. For the main my wife went for creamy risotto fish for the main which she liked.I went for the fillet of salmon with tagatelli which was delicious. My only negatives were they could of had an extra server as it was very busy. The men's toilet doors could do with a lick of paint. They could also introduce the Lemon meringue cocktail but then again I may just being picky. Would we go back - Yes
