The view from Steinterrasse is absolutely stunning and creates a great atmosphere for a drink, especially around sunset. However, the service left a bit to be desired, we were seated at a far table despite many closer spots being available, and the staff didn’t seem very attentive (we understand the load they have but…). It’s a nice place to enjoy a drink and take in the scenery, but don’t go in expecting top-notch service.
Came across this rooftop bar while wandering around the city. It is located on the top floor of Hotel Stein. Views are beautiful. It was quite busy, but the waiter managed to get us a table on the terrace after waiting for 10 minutes. Drinks were good, and the truffle Parmesan fries were tasty. Service seemed a bit chaotic, as I noticed waiters going all over the place. Overall, a good place for drinks and views.
I was there twice a day, once to rest from walking around Salzburg and the other because my friend made a reservation and highly recommended the place. My drink during the day was a lemonade with basil and ginger, the view from the terrace is amazing. In the evening, in my opinion the menu has limited options, and as I wasn't very hungry, I ordered an appetizer that was served in portions as a main dish, a dessert and a coffee. The plating is super well done with a lot of detail. The service was super good, a relaxed atmosphere that allows you to chat and enjoy a good glass of wine.
I visited Steinterrasse Inspired by Senns for breakfast in Salzburg, hoping for a refreshing change based on its recommendation. Unfortunately, my experience was underwhelming. The menu lacked variety, offering very limited options, which was quite disappointing for a place of this caliber. The coffee was another letdown—it tasted more like water than a proper brew. On top of that, having to self-serve bread felt out of place for a spot that aims to provide a premium dining experience. The only redeeming aspect was the view, which is indeed stunning. However, a beautiful view alone cannot compensate for a poor dining experience. I wouldn’t recommend this place for breakfast, especially if you’re looking for quality food and a good start to your day.
Incredible service for a very busy rooftop. Pricey drinks, but would pay much more for the view. The best view in Salzburg! Perfect for a cocktail.
