This place was a true lifesaver for our romantic dinner before a Vivaldi concert. Every other restaurant nearby was fully booked, but we managed to get a table here — and it turned out to be a fantastic choice! The staff were amazing: friendly, witty, and with a great sense of humor, which made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. The food was outstanding: the beef tartare was tender and perfectly balanced, my medium rare steak was cooked to perfection (even my boyfriend, who usually dislikes steaks, loved it!), and his duck breast was incredibly delicate and flavorful. We finished with apple strudel and lemon cream — both delicious and a perfect sweet ending. An excellent restaurant we would love to return to!
This was one of the best experiences of our trip to Vienna and actually washed away the disappointing memories of a famous restaurant we visitedthe night before. The welcoming of the owner is something which tells a story about why this business has 4.9 stars (and I believe they will go far beyond what they are now). We requested two meals to share for each couple and considerately they shared it in separate plates, added the cranberry sauce and salads dishes on the side for each plate. This might not seem very important but made a big impression on us as a gesture of respect. The above was enough on itself to rate a restaurant 5 stars but having said that, we enjoyed the quality of the food very much too. It was way better than a lot of other schnitzels we tried during our stay and we had a goulash too which was tasty. However, as I explained above, for me personally a lot of other factors contribute in rating a resrestaurant and Sixta checked every single box. Clean, quiet environment, welcoming, polite staff, good food, smart attention to clients’ requests and so on.
Great appetizers and traditional Austrian fare. I had the schnitzel which was delicious! Paired it with a 2016 Shiraz which went great with it. Staff was extremely friendly and attentive. I'll be back here again!
Amazing food and great service. We tried the schnitzel and the stew, both were fantastic. The staff was friendly and made the experience a pleasure. We highly recommend reservations, as the place gets full in the evenings.
Certainly! Here's the updated review with the chocolate cake included: Despite arriving 20 minutes late for our reservation at Sixta in Vienna, we were warmly welcomed and seated after only a short wait. A thoughtful touch was having a high chair already set up for our baby, Olivia—clear evidence of attention to detail and excellent service. The gorgonzola gnocchi was sublime, and the veal schnitzel with cranberry sauce was among the best I've ever had. We paired the meal with a superb Riesling wine, which I highly recommend. To finish, the chocolate cake was wonderful—a rich blend of mousse and cake that was the perfect end to the meal. The only area for improvement would be the speed of service, as the dishes took a bit long to arrive.
Incredible food! The lamb chops with garlic risotto were fantastic! So much so you'll be tempted to try to clean the bones and remind yourself you're not at home. The chocolate cake is moist, delicious and not overly sweet! The servers were friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and funny! Amazing restaurant and would recommend for a nice dinner with family or a date.
We decided to visit this place after looking at all the reviews online and it far exceeded our expectations! From the minute you enter you’re greeted with warmth and lovely staff and taken toward your table. This restaurant is incredibly popular so I’d recommend booking or at least arriving when it opens. The menu has a wide variety of items available including some Austrian classics, with lots of both alcohol and non-alcoholic drink options. Despite being immensely popular, the level of service remains high and the atmosphere both wondrous and enthralling. I would love to visit this establishment again as I had such as great time on the first occasion. This would also be my recommendation for anyone wanting a taste of Austria within the best environment!
