Was looking for a decent mango sticky rice near the office and came across SAO Thai Cuisine in Brussels. Dropped by for lunch without expecting much, but the food turned out to be great. I had the grilled sea bass wrapped in banana leaf. The fish was soft and nicely charred, and the fish sauces on the side actually added something rather than just sitting there. Not overly salty or sharp, just balanced. The mango sticky rice was comforting. Sweet ripe mango, warm rice, and coconut cream that wasn’t too thick or too sweet. It tasted like what I hoped it would. Some dishes are priced a bit above the usual Thai spots, though plenty of the menu stays affordable. But for a quiet place with good food near work, it’s worth a visit now and then.
I am not very ecstatic on the dining scene of Brussels. We randomly walked by this restaurant on a Saturday night and it immediately made an impact. And fortunately enough there was a table available. A spacious beautiful setting including an open kitchen. Service was really really efficient and pleasant. Food was also in the same side and we all enjoyed our food very much. Prices more than reasonable. A place will definitely return.
Great food and service. Went during busy hrs, so it did take some time for the food, but overall will come back again.
Everything was perfect! Thank you for the hospitality and for the amazing food that was served very fast. Looking forward in visiting you again!
We just had lunch here few hours ago. One of the best Thai authentic resto in Brussels. If your looking for good Thai cuisine this is must visit. The pad Thai, spring rolls and chicken curry are the best and most specially the mango sticky rice 🥰I recommend to have your booking as it’s always fully booked.
