Bij Koen & Marijke

Fantastic restaurant, just a quick 5 minute walk from the city centre. Walk in and met with the amazing smell of smoked meat and greeted by incredibly friendly people. It’s clear this is a relaxed and cosy place. Marijke served us, and gave very informed explanations and recommendations on different beers (from which there is a wide and varied selection to choose from) based on my preferences. And the beers were tasty, refreshing and exactly as described. Meat was incredibly flavoursome, good quality and filling. Atmosphere was homely, cosy and traditional with a fresh modern feel to it all at the same time. I’ll be popping back to Bruges for a weekend just to visit here! Thank you Koen & Marijke!

One of my favourite restaurants anywhere. The food is outstanding - meat cooked over hot coals, all within sight. You watch as your steak is expertly tended to. The beers are exceptional too, but for me Koen and Marijke make the whole experience so memorable - they are attentive, informative and fun. Just a great experience all round

Food was really fresh, with unique twists on taste, where the camembert and meat was grilled to perfection by Koen and the delicious Tiramisu was homemade by Marijke. Every single beer in the menu (beer pairing) was complimenting every course we got and explained by Marijke with alot of interesting facts, with tastes in beers that I never experienced before, amazing! Would we go back? ✅ Yes !!!

Amazing restaurant! We came in 2021 and had to come back this time. The food is delicious, the selection of beers is fantastic and the hosts are so friendly and welcoming. A wonderful dining experience.

Great little cozy family run steak place off the central area of the town. The service was perfect with a wealth of knowledge and guidance throughout the process from the wife and the chef, the husband. I ordered the ribeye with creme burlee. Amazing taste and tender steak with great seasoning and fantastic sauces. My favorite was the paprika sauce. The chips are great. I highly recommend the beetroot appetizer. The ambiance is great with the grill right there as the husband cooks away. Quite harmonious and calm. The only issue is that we would smell this bad aroma in the room every few minutes. Not sure what that was all about. Restrooms are available. Fantastic find, make reservations for sure. Will come again.
