I recently had the pleasure of dining at 2bangkok Thai in Ghent, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. As a couple enjoying a quiet afternoon meal, we were warmly welcomed into this cozy and stylish restaurant, which exudes a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. The food was a true highlight. We began with a spicy papaya salad that was bursting with freshness and authentic Thai flavors. The balance of heat and tanginess was perfect, showcasing the chef’s skill in crafting traditional dishes. For our main course, we opted for the beef dish, which was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and accompanied by a delightful blend of herbs and spices. It’s evident that only fresh ingredients are used, as each bite was a testament to quality and authenticity. The service was equally impressive. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. Their genuine hospitality added to the overall enjoyment of our meal, creating a truly relaxing and memorable dining experience. I highly recommend 2bangkok Thai to anyone seeking authentic Thai cuisine in Ghent. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this restaurant offers a delightful culinary journey that shouldn’t be missed.

Some of the best Thai food we’ve had. Green curry was particularly good (no photo, sorry). Presentation of the Pad Thai (see photo) also incredible. Tasted great too!
I’ve visited 2Bangkok many times, often tying it into my trips to Ghent, and each experience has been absolutely worth it. I’m finally taking the time to write this review. The food is incredibly authentic, with original flavors that keep getting better. I’ve noticed that the presentation of the dishes has only improved over time, and the service has become even more attentive. A special highlight is their adorable golden retriever, who greets guests with such sweetness. This charming touch adds something special to the overall experience, making it feel like you’re visiting a friend’s home rather than just a restaurant. Whenever I’m in Ghent, 2Bangkok is always a must-visit. Highly recommended!
I have to say I’m a bit disappointed by this restaurant. The food was good but portions very small for what we paid 27,5€ for pad kraprao and 28,5€ for chicken curry with which we got a tiny bowl of rice. Appetisers around 15€. More over once I got home I checked on Takeaway because I didn’t remember it being so expensive and of course the dishes were 8€ less - I felt like we were being scammed. You can see the menu from Takeway in the pictures. Total bill 84€ for 1 soup 2 mains and 2 drinks in a restaurant where electricity went out 3 times and while we were there and in the end we couldn’t even get a printed receipt of our order and they preferred payment in cash.
