Stumbled upon this restaurant on a very busy Friday. We really enjoyed the meal we had (the 3 croquettes, side salad and fries choice). It was so tasty, big portions so good value for money. Croquettes don’t look big but they are so filling. Service was a little bit slow in terms of taking our order but the staff were friendly and the building itself was great!
The place itself is in the heart of Ghent, has wonderful ambience and very friendly service. The meals are ok - it wouldn’t hurt to pay more attention - ours was party over fried.
Food was good but we asked for 5 dips (we like dips) and we definitely didn't get enough. It was also very expensive for what we got but that bring said the croquettes were very good (I can recommend the beef beer stew one) and the salad was actually very good too. The atmosphere was a bit dark it felt a bit too hidden away in the summer but all in all it was a good dinner but not quite value for money.
We had reservations for lunch. We were seated quickly and ordered. Drinks and food were good. Like all the different croquette options. Perfect portions for the lunch special. Recommend.
This place is quite popular in Gent, but in my opinion overhyped. Their croquettes are good but their shrimp, scampi and salmon croquettes were very underwhelming. You can get some croquettes at a regular frituur that taste better. Their cheese croquettes and vol au vent are the better option in my opinion. Wedges and salad were good though. The service is very average, toilets don't have tissue paper and one is out of order. I am happy I tried so I write it off my bucket list. Not recommended, sorry.
