Mosquito Coast is a restaurant centrally located in Ghent. It has a large menu with lots of options from around the world (e.g., chips & salsa & guacamole - Mexico / southern USA, Indian samosas (delicious), Japanese yakitori, Thai meatballs, Lebanese falafel and more). The samosas were so good we ordered four plates of them whereas the calamari a la romana and shrimp scampi, both deep fried, were average. Their large menu also includes lots of drinks - cocktails, mocktails, beer (incl. alcohol-free) and wine and other liqueur. The fresh ginger tea was a highlight! Of note, Mosquito Coast is known for its cocktails. It has indoor and outdoor seating including a terrace upstairs, an inner courtyard and street seating. Service is attentive and friendly and it’s possible to reserve a table online. That’s also where to find the menu. Recommend Mosquito Coast when in Ghent city center looking for a large venue with indoor and outdoor seating and when you’re undecided on what type of food to eat. There’s definitely something for everyone at Mosquito Coast. And as we went with locals, we were pleased to see the majority other guests were also locals and they all gave a thumbs up.
Food was lovely, only 4* because quantity maybe could’ve been slightly larger. Much bigger place than it looks, atmosphere inside was great and lots on offer to drink, with a nice lounge area to sit in and have a drink after your meal.
Amazing place to sit and chill over nice beers and food on any occasion. There's a range of areas to choose for indoor or outdoor including a cosy rooftop terrace. Beer range is excellent, food is very good quality, service is on-the-ball. A favorite place in Ghent now.
Nice cocktails and food- the ribs were a little dry with not a lot of meat but the stew and Thai curry were lovely. Dog friendly too which is great. Lots of nice terraces too and the place has a nice busy vibe.
Great vibes and decorations. They have a good selection of beer including abbey ales. Get the cheese and mustard! It’s a local speciality that is surprisingly great.
