SOVA is a great local restaurant that showcases some of the best Czech cuisine has to offer. The hummus and sun-dried tomato starter is delicious with the crusty bread. The duck breast main was cooked very well and the dish was very really tasty. The slow cooked veal cheek with potato was amazing. The staff were friendly and contributed to a great experience. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit.
We truly believe SOVA is a hidden gem tucked away in the heart of Old Town Prague. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and treated with exceptional care. To start, we had the pumpkin soup with feta cheese and mushrooms — a deliciously comforting dish that set the tone for the evening. For our mains, we enjoyed the turkey breast with a creamy cashew sauce and the veal cheeks with mashed potatoes. Both dishes were incredibly flavorful, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. Dessert was just as impressive. We tried the dark beer ice cream and the sour cream with salted caramel and Parmesan crumble — both unique and outstanding, though I’d give a slight edge to the latter for its surprising and delightful contrast of flavors. The service was excellent throughout the evening. The all-female staff was friendly, attentive, and consistently made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. SOVA exceeded our expectations, and we would absolutely return if we find ourselves in Prague again. Highly recommended!
Steps from Old Town Square, SOVA charms with vaulted brick, warm service and modern Czech flavors. I loved the duck pâté with smoked cherry and truffle, melting veal cheeks in red wine, and their playful dark-beer ice cream. Cozy, friendly, and great value.
This is an interesting find as resto opens all day but menu is limited. I enjoyed this place with high chair by the window. Though the chairs are not meant for people height below 1.7m. Maybe I should have asked for baby chairs. Anyway, server is very pleasant and happy. Wine by the glass not great but is ok to drink. Orange wine is too weird for me. Food is excellent. Price is also very reasonable and they have option to pay in Euro on the receipt. Restroom is clean enough.
A hidden gem with serious culinary talent. This place is the perfect mix of a hole-in-the-wall charm and unexpected elegance. The presentation of the dishes was beautiful, and the flavors truly delivered—every plate looked like it belonged in a fine dining restaurant but tasted even better. What really stood out to me was the team behind it all: from the friendly, attentive waitresses to the two ladies I saw working in the kitchen—it looked like an all-women crew, which I thought was very cool and inspiring. You can tell there’s a lot of care and pride in what they do. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something unique and genuinely well-executed.
