Great start to our 3 day visit to Prague and so pleased to have booked a meal here as they were closed Monday / Tuesday. The restaurant was full when we arrived and we had a short wait during which we were offered a pre dinner drink. Traditional Czech menu with good size portions. We had beef soup and Prague sausage to start, beef goulash and chicken & mango salad for main course, honey cake and apple strudel for desert, Baileys coffee and tea to finish. With two dark beers and two cokes this extravaganza came to an amazingly cheap £58 The waitress was a delight and spoke excellent English. The restaurant has a wonderful homely feel. It is hidden away in a small backstreet but well worth searching out.
Food was great. Had the chance to try their Roasted Pork Knee which was soft and tender. Not the biggest fan of the condiments, but that's just me. The pork knee was well cooked, and balanced flavours (which seems to be a thing in Czech, food is usually balanced flavour). It's food well made, but not something I would crave for over time. Worth the visit definitely, and if you are -please make sure to make a booking/reservation. They can be full most of the time.
I really love this place!! I wish i could stay longer here, the food and the ambiance was awesome! First time trying beef goulash and i really like it. The staff are lovely, they try their best for me & my mom to get the seat we really appreciate it so we can taste the non touristy restaurant in this area. Love from indonesia ☺️🫶
A gem resto inside the small corridor. 60m from a sauage corner store. We ordered a local sausage starter, beef goulash, pork knuckle and a side salad for two people. We are so full and could not try the dessert. Everything is very delicious and properly seasoned. Both meat dishes are flavourful and very tender. The place is small. Better to make reservation ahead of time. Need to give a big credit to our server. It seems that she is the only one who attends all tables. She is fast, proactive, attentive and carries big smiles. One great authentic Czech resto!
I went to this restaurant after reading a travel blog. The blogger said that it was the best restaurant in Prague old town…and after trying it out myself, I agree 200%! We went to this restaurant for our first meal in Prague and nothing was better after that. We came back on our last day to eat (especially the sausage) here again, but they were fully booked. I highly recommend!
