Loved the food and the service was amazing. There is no ala carte menu, just 10 course shared one. It is full of surprising flavours (my favourite was chipotle sorbet on beef tartare) and fairly priced.
Nögen has a gorgeous concept of combating food waste, and does so by offering a tasting menu that changes every week. We had the 10 dish meal and we couldn't finish it all, we were THAT full. Some of the dishes were great and some less, but it was all generally nice. Our waiter was up-beat and really sweet, which was fun. The restaurant was very busy and the decor didn't really fit the quality of the food or the vibe they seem to be going for. Overall - had a very nice experience for a very reasonable price.
Never before have I dined so fine and had such a good service. The food was excellent and every course was exciting and served personally by the cook. When I visit Århus again I'll hope to be able to eat at Nögen again! See you next time
We were a group of 15+ and I ordered vegetarian. Was a mess from beginning to the end. I see that they have their concept of not having a menu but they aren’t able to execute it properly for vegetarians. Basically I got the same as everyone else but except the main meaning I just got sides. Waiters or chefs were both confused about the menu. It looks like they didn’t have anything planned at all and they made it up as they went for vegetarians. After the chef served the main course they told me that because I didn’t get much food they would prepare an additional dish. 20 minutes later I went to the waiter and he said “oh yeah it is on the way”. Then another 20 min passed and I went to another waiter (Signe) and she went to the kitchen and came out and said there had been a misunderstanding and they thought something about pescatarian. I said they should forget it about it. We got the bill and then I got a dish of mushrooms to which I said “stop already”. 0 out of 5
Amazing restaurant concept focused on combating food waste, which means every visit to Nögen offers a new dining experience— this can be both a positive or a negative, depending on your preferences. Not every dish was on the same level during our visit, but overall, it was excellent. Big congratulations to the chefs; it can’t be easy to be so creative every day! The service was also impeccable. My only point for improvement would be the atmosphere, but that may be because we ended up with a less ideal table near the entrance. Some other seatings looked a lot more cozy.
