Ravintola Ragu

This was a real treat on the final night of the Helsinki trip, we loved this fabulous restaurant. Everything was so good from start to end. The bread tray was so great with various dips, starter, main was venison cooked to perfection and desert was also great. The ambience, the server Anu was lovely and welcoming. The design of the restaurant and colour scheme tables everything was great. I would love to go back hopefully soon.

Highly recommend to order the surprise menu with the wine pairing, amazing! And I asked if any pairing with non-alcoholic and they have! Even the homemade bread and spread taste superb. Service is good just one of the staff speak without much smile and took much time to get us settle. Or else everything is good. Valued for money.

I recently visited this restaurant with my friend for my dinner birthday, and overall had a pleasant experience, though nothing particularly stood out as exceptional. The service was efficient, but I found it a bit rushed and somewhat commercial in nature—I didn’t quite feel the warmth or personal touch I was hoping for. The starter reindeer was truly enjoyable and well-prepared, but the main course and dessert felt rather average in comparison. The fish, in particular, was a little bland and dry, which was a bit disappointing. It’s a nice spot with potential, and perhaps my expectations were just a little high. Still, I appreciate the effort and hope to see more consistency and warmth in the future. And thank you for the birthday dessert with a candle, I really appreciate it.

Had the 5-course mystery menu...excellent. Some items I probably would not have ordered on my own; however, I'm so glad I got them. Everything was delicious, with super fresh ingredients. Highly recommend.

Ravintola Ragu has been our favourite restaurant in Helsinki for several years now, and once again, it reminded us why. We had the 5-course surprise menu, and every dish was an absolute masterpiece — both visually stunning and bursting with flavour. It was a true feast for the senses, with each course offering a perfect balance of taste, texture, and creativity. The seasonal changing menus are always surprising and never stale, keeping the dining experience fresh and exciting every time. And we have to mention the malt bread — absolutely divine! It’s a melt-in-the-mouth experience that sets the tone for the rest of the meal. The attention to detail, warm service, and elegant atmosphere make each visit a memorable experience. Ragu continues to set the standard for fine dining in Helsinki. Highly recommended!
