The Waffle Cafe Tampere

Wonderful atmosphere, quick and kind service, both savory (goat cheese in picture) and sweet waffles are worth every penny. Outdoor terrace is quiet and so very pretty. To our delight, they had actual cream with coffee, too!

The place is very homey with friendly and warm service! The place from outside seems very unassuming and it's easy to miss if you're not coming out of your way to visit here as it is also a little mot remote to the main city center area (not too far or hard to find though). The decor of this place really give you an old-timey homemade feel and I love some of the antique pieces they have still on use and display, like the cash register. The waffles here are great and very tasty and pretty generously sized. They have a menu online for both salty and sweet waffles as well as some on location. I had the salty ice-cream waffle that came with some salted peanuts and dark chocolate chunks. I was pleasantly surprised at the care put into every waffle here! The coffee was alright. I would highly recommend to stop by here, overall I had a great experience here as well as on their summer seasonal stand at Laukontori. I want to take my partner on a chill date here sometime

A traditional waffle café is a place you simply must visit during a trip to Tampere. The food, the atmosphere, and the entire setting, with its historic buildings, make for a truly valuable experience. Salty and sweet waffle options available.

If you love waffles and great hospitality, this is the café to visit! From savoury to sweet, everything is covered. My favourites are the salmon waffle and the roast beef waffle. On the sweet side I can highly recommend the classic Nutella waffle or the waffle with apple pieces backed in. But don’t forget to keep an eye open for the tasty seasonal variations.

Best waffles in town. This place is such a classic! 🧇 4.5 star vohvelis and 5 star service, 4 star atmosphere. Pricing; 10,10€ for a vohveli + cup of coffee in (07/2025). The Finnish ”vohveli” (waffle) is something you should definitely try, as vohvelis are a memorabme and classic childhood taste for Finns. Tampereen vohvelikahvila (the Waffle Cafe Tampere) serves authentic Finnish waffles that are hard to find anywhere else because usually these are prepared in Finnish homes only ! Their sweet waffles are the best and most traditional, but salty options won’t disappoint either. Only 4/5 stars for athmosphere and 4.5 for vohvelis because to get 5/5 for these we’d need a grandma’s cottage or seaside / lake views; in Tampere cafe they do have a cute street terrasse during summer, though. 😌🫶🏻💕
