Really really good; you can taste the craftsmanship. Every dish I ate had great flavours and multiple little components that all worked together well. This was especially impressive given the 1 chef is doing all the cooking, plating, etc. Dishes I ordered (all excellent): - octopus salad - magret de canard - mousse caramel, with roasted nuts The only nit I have is that the server took a while between check-ins. OTOH he was also the only front of house person, many when he did check in, everything else would happen very quickly after.
Made a last minute 7:30pm reservation for three on a Saturday night. They were fully booked (albeit most of the reservations were for later in the evening) as most walk-in diners only had the option of their outdoor seating. Diners seemed to be a mix of locals and tourists. The menu which changes weekly was in French but our server walked through it in detail for us in English. We ordered one two-course prix fixe and two three-course prix fixe and shared all the dishes. All three starters were great - the salmon confit was incredibly melt-in-your-mouth, fish soup was very rich with seafood flavour, and the beef carpaccio was tasty and well seasoned. Mains were excellent too. I loved the duck and shrimp, both cooked perfectly and the sauces and purée that accompanied were delicious. The octopus was super tender and the beef borgonion was excellent. All three dishes came with a really good potato side - the truffle mashed potatoes that came with the beef was a highlight. Both desserts were wonderful as well. Portion sizes were more than reasonable and overall quality was great for the price. We only saw two staff that evening - one hosting/serving and one in the open kitchen. However, service was very efficient, and we never had to wait long for food or water. Highly recommend if you’re in Marseille!
I was in Marseille for less than 24h but already knew when I left this would be my favorite place in the city. The menu is pretty simple, 3 starters, 3 dishes and 2 desserts. Each of them with the same price. We had the typical soup for starter. We were three and only asked for one soup but they were so nice they split the soup into 3 different plates so that everyone could share and taste it. Then, we had the 3 different dishes: octopus, codfish and pork with lamb. All of them were great, being my favorite the smashed sweet potato. The mousse at the end was delicious. What a great experience in Marseille, I'll make sure to come here again when I'm back in the city.
So, as a person already in love with the French cuisine, the two gentlemen brought my taste experience to another level with their delicious local art. Everything you eat id fresh, wisely thought and put together in the best possible way and most importantly care. The atmosphere is amazing and the open kitchen shows the confidence of the experienced chef. First go-to option for the local food experience. I dont remember the names of the foods but perhaps they can write the French names: marrow, fish soup, octopus,(and i guess) turbot
The food was phenomenal. Delicious. I got the lamb. Dessert was amazing
