We were having a wander around Bordeaux and found this place. It had a good vibe as we walked up to the outside terrace. We were welcomed warmly and seated immediately. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. We shared the octopus and the ravioli. The latter is truly exceptional. Never really had anything quite like it before. We then shared the delicious apricots. Sadly we ate the ravioli too quickly to take a photo, but here’s a snap of the apricots. Would definitely return next time I’m back in town.
Fine place to dine in, sweet terrace and large interior with upper floor, well decorated and nicely arranged. Brilliant dishes, great variety – tasty, fresh and hot. Delicious bread and utterly friendly personal, a service as expected! Very much recommended.
We had very high expectations of this restaurant having read other reviews. We were seated outside where we could watch the world go by. This was the only plus. We waited 30 minutes for our starter. We had to ask for our drinks twice. We received our main mail one hour and 20 minutes after our starter. The food was cold. I have no doubt it had been sitting there for quite a while in a kitchen The waiter asked did we want the bill and it was only then that they realised they had never served us the main meal. He blamed a change of staff, but there was never an apology offered. We had tried to get their attention, but it was impossible. We had to ask for the bill twice also and it was presented in a very gruff fashion. Never once were we offered an apology.
Such a lovely experience, the servers were so polite and lovely. The food was to die for, delicious flavours and cooked to perfection. Amazing variety of dishes. Would love to come back again 😊
Very good spot visiting for lunch. Ordered the burger which was quite tasty. The medium temperature favored medium rare (at least by US standards) but it was still cooked excellently. The fries accompaniment had nice flavor as well. I’d recommend the French House for a spot near downtown but not directly in it.
