What a great discovery on top of the beautiful neighbourhood Croix Rousse! Everything about our experience there excelled our expectations. We opted for the 3 course menu. The entrée and plat principal were delicious but the highlight does to their desserts! Both butternut cream with pear ice cream and the pear tartellete left us amazed for the flavors and how they were mixed together. Their homemade bread was also spectacular, with seeds on it. If I were to make any remark, that’d be for the entrée be a little warmer and a little more jus in the main course would have been appreciated. That would have reached perfection haha! Big thanks to the staff working there, everyone was super kind and helpful! We are sure returning there to try upcoming menus and will bring family and friends for sure!
The food was excellent: The chef used seasonal and sometimes surprising ingredients in really interesting (and delicious!) ways. The menu was as creative as it was tasty. And the staff were all very kind and patient as we fumbled through with our broken French. We had a lovely experience and would recommend it to anyone. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
It was an excellent choice. The restaurant is offering re-designed traditional international dishes with a French touch and local fresh ingredients. Nice atmosphere.
We recently had the pleasure of dining at COPAINS COPINES SUR LA COLLINE, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a casual meal or a special gathering. The menu offered a small selection with diverse dishes, all at incredibly affordable prices. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, given the reasonable costs. Every dish we tried was delicious, showcasing fresh ingredients and thoughtful preparation. The highlight for us was the Carrot soup and mackerel which was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour as well as the desserts.Portion sizes were generous, ensuring we left feeling satisfied without breaking the bank. Service was friendly and attentive staff who made sure our needs were met without being overbearing. Overall, COPAINS COPINES SUR LA COLLINE is a hidden gem that offers fantastic food at great prices. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable and affordable dining experience.
First, this is a nice restaurant with generally good food, well presented. One of our starters and both our mains were excellent. They also have an extensive list of wines by the glass. The four stars for food are because I ordered sardines, expecting fresh sardines. What I got were sardines presented in a tin. Quality of these was good but nevertheless I don't expect to go to a nice restaurant and be served tinned sardines. Service was good but one young waitress was going her best to serve 34 seats, mostly full, by herself. A second waiter would be a good idea. Atmosphere scores low due to two factors. First, the lighting levels are really too high. Lowering the level would immediately increase the ambiance. Second, the area in which we were seated was very 'tight', with 6 tables were 5 would have been much more comfortable for patrons and wait staff. Overall, not a bad experience but not a great one either. Apart from the sardines, the food was very good.
