Le Vieux Lyon

Found this restaurant on Google because was looking for escargots but unfortunately ran out. We arrived around 2pm on Monday noon and they close at 2.30pm. We still managed to have quick lunch. 3 of us, we ordered 2 mains for sharing - 1 steak with fries and traditional food (Andouillette). Perhaps we didn’t really know how to enjoy it but good try. We wanted to try chestnut cake but too full. Overall food and service were ok. Big portion of food and a basket of bread. The price was reasonable.

Very little space inside and very cramped, but nicely and quaintly furnished. Outside cozy old town atmosphere. Good food with tasty dishes and reasonable prices. However, everything a little more expensive than shown on the current website. Staff very friendly and competent, but a little overworked at times.

Incredible place with local Lyon cuisine! Onion soup was divine, local sausage in brioche is good. For the main course we took pork tenderloin. There are always a lot of people, so I recommend booking a table in advance. The service is fast and friendly.

Fastanstic place to grab Lyonnaise dishes. We had the combo menu with the Quenelle as the mains. Service was very attentive and helpful as well, and the restaursnt itself has great vibes. The only downside (which we did not take a photo of) is the chocolate mousse which was rather underwhelming. Otherwise the food was excellent.

Excellent starter, alright main course, average dessert. Outdoor sitting felt a bit too crowded cuz we were too close to other tables around us so it was quite distracting while eating. Service was quick enough. It’s my first time having quenelle so I didn’t know what to expect. The clay fish sauce is definitely very rich but it was more creamy than tasting like seafood. The cake thing tasted a bit blend. The first few bite was very flavourful but I Felt super bloated eventually. The dessert is too sweet to my taste and the table next to us said it’s frozen stuff.
