The beer, atmosphere, and service were excellent. The schnitzel was also delicious, but the lack of sauce made it feel a bit dry. Beer is served in a standard 20cl glass, but if you finish it, they automatically bring you a new one. If you don't want one, just let them know.
We experienced wonderful flavors in a beautiful historical building. The waiter was very polite and helpful. The meat was prepared perfectly. We enjoyed it very much. The atmosphere was nice. I will definitely come back on my next visit to Cologne.
I tried the roasted pork knuckle, which was decent. I was hoping for a crispier skin, similar to the roasted pork, but it wasn’t quite as satisfying. The flavour was good, and the mashed potatoes were delicious. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, but it’s a bit confusing inside. Perhaps it’s because it’s in an old building, the bathroom smell was a bit funky. The server was very busy and took a while to bring us our water and condiments, but maybe that’s just the pace in Cologne?
Good Food in a classical Brauhaus. Staff is super friendly and efficient, which is definitely not a given in the German hospitality industry. Well worth a visit!
Had a great meal at this BrauHaus. We were looking for a place that served local dishes and drinks, and we definitely found that here. The food was exactly what we expected — not fine dining, but very tasty. I can especially recommend the Jägerschnitzel. The staff were friendly and quick to bring me new and delicious beers. It was a bit hard to hear each other because of the lively crowd, but that also added to the atmosphere. Definitely recommended!
