We had a great time at Green Smoke. Despite our group being a 7-person walk in, we were offered a table and received very good service. Most of us went for the beef lover platter and it was amazing.
The food was okay, nothing particularly extraordinary. The restaurant is located inside a hotel, and while that’s convenient, it felt a bit empty and lacked a warm, welcoming atmosphere. On the plus side, the staff was super friendly and attentive
Was a little hard to find at first . FYI it’s in a hotel but I didn’t see a sign . Being and American style restaurant I figured as an American I’d give Green Smoke a try. First off , the food is good but a little on the expensive side . I think the people are friendly but not efficient. Imagine paying higher prices but having to ask for “hot” coffee to be hot and for napkins and silverware at the table . When the waiter fixed the coffee she did not bring sugar or a spoon with the replacement. So yet again I have to ask for something else .These things should be customary. I had to get up from my table twice to get napkins and silverware (none on my table when she cleaned it off right before I sat) also there was no drink menu on the table . The stars I have was for the food actually being good and the people being polite but it was not very busy at all so I can only imagine on a busy evening.
We were here with a larger group of about 25, planned ahead with reservation weeks in advance for the outdoor BBQ. There seemed to be only one guy cooking and he was doing his best. Very friendly and polite. They had an amazing pulled pork, but unfortunately they did not have enough for our entire group so many people didnt get any. The steak option was cooked quite rare, and they were not open to making any that was more medium done, so some people were then without either option. Placing drink orders was difficult and we kept having to ask when they would not bring everyone's drinks. The seating was a bit crowded with the servers not being able to reach everyone to pick up plates or empty bottles. We had to pass them down the line of people trying to eat to set them on the end of the table. Understanding that we had a larger group though, I think the dinner was really great and probably fine for smaller groups. I would try this place again for sure. And try to get my hands on the pulled pork.
We had a dinner with BBQ plate and three burgers. Beef Ribs were great, sides were good, not great. Chicken a bit dry but very nice, pork ribs were made from baby back part, really meatty, nice flavour. BBQ sauce was amazing, totally Texas style. All burgers were really good but the thing that was the biggest fail were dry buns. Really dry, probably old. Not even warmed up. And yeah, Butter is with bone Marrow, which is amazing, but it was really Cold and couldnt be spread on the Bread or meat. I will come back for smash burgers, please just improve a bit.
