Vinothek by Geisel

One of the few upscale restaurants around the Munich central station, serving German Italian fusion cuisine in a very traditional and cozy space. The food is good but quite pricey, probably due to the location, or it being the restaurant for the upscale Excelsior hotel. The asparagus was priced at 25€ for 5 pieces, plus 17€ for prawns as sides. At such price levels, the expectation is very high even for Munich.

The atmosphere and the young man was perfect, he helped us to choose the best drink according to our habits. He explained all the details we asked. The place was so cosy and relaxing. It’s a little bit expensive but the quality deserves this. The food and the sauces were different for me but I am happy to have a chance to try such different nice tastes.

Quick dinner after arriving to Munich. It was very good and worth the visit.

We were particularly impressed by the seamless balance between traditional Bavarian influences and modern European cuisine. The atmosphere was intimate yet lively, making it perfect for both a special occasion or a relaxed evening out. Vinothek by Geisel truly exceeded our expectations, offering a dining experience that was delightful from A to Z. We can’t wait to return!

Excellent meal! Very happy to have found this restaurant through our search process for a top quality meal in Munich. From the opening, the service exceeded my expectations. The staff were friendly, dedicated, and extremely knowledgeable. They helped provide recommendations, wine pairings, and worked well together. The food was top notch. From their on-site prosciutto meat slicer, to their appetizers, and of course wonderful execution of main dishes, we were over the moon with this meal. Highly recommend the veal cheek. Their extensive wine list is impressive, so you'll certainly find something you love.
