We came on ChatGPT’s recommendation: it misled us a bit about the price level—it turned out higher than expected—but it didn’t mislead us about the quality. The setting is moderately posh; there were some well-dressed ladies. Food: • Greek salad — a large and tasty portion. • Eggplant salad — small but delicious. • Octopus — not much, but good. • Grilled calamari — some of the best I’ve had, and I come to Greece several times a year. Parking is difficult in the evening. Bottom line: not about saving money, but about quality seafood and a pleasant evening. I’d come back for the calamari.
Nice fish oriented restaurant. Food 3/5 with limited menu and nice fish plates! Lacks the wow effect and the scallops were served bit raw without the classic crispness. The green salad was nothing extravagant The Taramosalata was very salty and punching taste! Service very good and tables with tablecloth leaving a sense of cleanliness. Atmosphere nice but the place is on a highway having noisy traffic.
Nice place with good service and food. We arrived around 23:00 when the kitchen was already to close about and we were still able to order the food. Thanks guys! The only one thing that I didn’t like and was disappointed that a lot of people were smoking inside which is normally no go in the restaurants of that level and very uncomfortable for those who are not smoking but have to be passive smoker in that case especially while eating! That’s actually very common in Greece while in the most European countries is forbidden to smoke in the restaurants inside and allowed only if it’s an open air area.
An Unforgettable Dining Experience at Mavri Thalassa Mavri Thalassa in Thessaloniki is a seafood lover’s paradise! The grilled fish was cooked to absolute perfection, bursting with fresh, rich flavors that transported me straight to the Aegean. The octopus was tender and beautifully seasoned, a true delight with every bite. But the star of the night for me was the baby calamari—crispy on the outside and so wonderfully soft inside. The service was fantastic, and the ambiance made the whole experience even more special. If you’re in Thessaloniki, this is a must-visit!
Visiting “Mavri Thalassa” was been an amazing culinary trip! We received the highest level of food quality together with an absolutely amazing treatment by both the staff as well as the owner, Mr Tokidis! This restaurant is a piece of jewelry in Thessaloniki, just 20’ by car/taxi from Thessaloniki city center. I highly recommend it for its innovative Greek cuisine!
