Hidden away from the tourist crowds in one of Thessaloniki’s most charming neighborhoods – Pylea – this restaurant is an absolute gem. The food is exceptional: creative, flavorful, and made with real care. The service is equally outstanding – warm, professional, and attentive. Try the octopus with Lefkada salami, the cheese-and-tomato stuffed calamari, the mussel pilaf (midia pilaf), and any of the starters – they’re all worth it. And don’t even think about skipping dessert: the galaktoboureko is mind-blowingly good – crispy, juicy, and unforgettable.
An unforgettable seafood experience in Thessaloniki. Dishes like the sea bass carpaccio, white tarama, scallops, and shrimp risotto were all perfectly executed — fresh, well-balanced, and full of flavour. Portions are incredibly generous; we ordered more than we could finish, but loved every bite. Glykanisos will definitely be my first stop next time I’m in town.
Great options for seafood, delicious food and attentive staff. We were able to go and directly pick the fish that we wanted. I particularly enjoyed the shrimp linguini. They had a good selection of Greek wines that paired very nicely with the seafood.
Absolutely FANTASTIC !! Everything we ordered were just amazing. The Linguine with shrimps were the best i ever had. And the cheesecake on the house tasted like drops of heaven. Service was also very professional and polite. Our experience A+++
Glykanios in Pylaia is one of the top spots for fish lovers in the area. The seafood is consistently cooked to perfection, and this isn’t my first visit—it's a must on my list every time I'm in Pylaia. I particularly enjoy the fresh raw fish dishes, complemented by the delicious starters and vibrant salads. The grilled shrimp is the star of the show, alongside the expertly grilled fish. The restaurant also offers an impressive wine list, perfectly paired with the meal. For dessert, the homemade options are a lovely way to end an epic dining experience. While the prices may be on the higher side, you definitely get what you pay for in terms of quality and freshness.
