Ψαροκάικο Χανιά - Psarokaiko Chania Seaside Restaurant

Amazing location and really good food! Only the service is too fast: you don't have the time to finish eating a course, that the next one is already on the table. For the rest, all good!

Not as good as the reviews suggest. Came here with our baby, server sat us promptly outside with a lovely sea view yet no one brought us menus? Five minutes later I asked for some and a waiter said ‘Sorry it’s not good enough, it’s not as if we are busy’, acknowledging that they should have bought them. There were about ten waiters doing ‘jobs’ like laying tables but service was still very slow. Also very cheeky that they immediately bring you a bottle of water without asking then charge €3.50 for it on the bill!! We ordered prawn saganaki and mussels. Was surprised that neither came with bread or any accompaniments? So we ordered two bread with olives/olive oil yet they only bought one. Then towards end of meal we asked for more bread to mop up sauces and they charged us again for the whole bread/olive oil/olives set yet only gave us some extra bread?? Again a bit cheeky. Kind of turned it around at the end by providing yummy free profiteroles/ice cream and shots of ouzo but can’t help but think we didn’t receive as good service as we were brits/foreigners?? There were mainly Greeks eating there and they had waiters around them constantly. Such a shame as had good reviews and nice sea view but I wouldn’t recommend/go again based on the slow/lack of service.

Sorry but I didn’t enjoy my food that much, I feel it was over prized for what I got. Octopus was tough. My husband’s food was somewhat plain and tasteless, not represented as you might expect in a higher end Restaurant. Total 47€ with one non alcoholic beer and water. Swimming on the beach was nice.

Amazing gem with genuine Cretan fish cuisine. Our flight to Chania was late, and we thought that at 22:00 PM, going hungry to bed is our one-way solution. With great surprise, we saw this treasure next to the road and on the sea. Full with people and still waiting for new reservations. We had our slow eating dinner until 01:00 AM with the highest level of service. Small and big fish, clams, shrimps, calamari fried/grilles. King size dishes, excellent serving, and tasteful food.

Fabulous atmosphere, gorgeous view & waiters spoke English fluently. My husband got to go inside and pick his fish and it was prepared to perfection. Food was beautifully plated! Great wine selection as well. If you want fresh seafood this is the place.
