I loved the place. Simple. Great taste and people working there. Free refill for delicious soup. Quite spacious on 2 floors. Bread really tasty. My personal opinion: Soup served in the bread is always wasting most of the delicious bread.
We tried lamb soup and spicy tomato soup, both were good. You can refill bread bowl for free. Fish stew was good too. Also free waffles with jam, they are amazing. The cafe has very interesting concept, you can leave a coin from your country and take one that you like from the box.
Fab resturant, would highly recommend especially to tired and cold travellers! Just off the busy tourist streets but very central. Informal seating with outside, inside, and upstairs seats, so just grab a table anywhere and order at the downstairs bar area. They had 4 different soups available. We had the lamb soup on the recommendation of a tour guide, which was amazing and comes from the local Icelandic sheep. You could choose to have it in a bowl (which came with bread) or a bread bowl. They also do food to take away. Best bit, you can get refills of the soups as many times as you like, and they also had free waffles with sugar and berry jam! Prices were about standard for Iceland, so expensive (two soups was about £30), but with the soup refills and free waffles it was a pretty purse-friendly meal. Staff were really friendly and helpful, food was provided almost immediately, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Will come again the next time we're in Rekiyavik.
This was our first stop in Iceland and am all the more glad for it! They have 3 things on the menu - soup, soup and more soup! Haha. But Unlimited soup refills! Do Wish they had more than one vegetarian option but damn it’s yum. PS: Don’t forget to try their free waffles with homemade rhubarb jam.
Small selection of food, but both the lamb soup as well as the shellfish soup were good and you can refill it for free. There were also free waffles. Nice!
