I love the interior decor/setup. It was sophisticated but not burdensome. The food was great! I recommend the langoustine soup, it was truly a delight. The cocktail? Phenomenal, i enjoyed my mojito very much! Thank you for the wonderful experience.
We were a party of 12 that arrived at Dass with no reservation. They were extremely accommodating, and made exceptions to their menu to ensure our children ate well. The food was absolutely delicious, particularly the Roasted Lamb and Arctic Char.
The restaurant Dass Reykjavik offers a pleasant ambiance and friendly table service. We tried the special year-end buffet and were initially positively surprised: They offered two soups (a mushroom soup and a lobster soup) with bread and butter, and we chose the lobster soup, which was good. The selection of buffet items was okay, but not particularly outstanding. What really disappointed us, however, was the service at the buffet. We deliberately took small portions at first to try the quality and taste of the dishes. When we went back for a second serving, where the meat had to be portioned by staff, we were ignored for a long time. We felt like beggars, which was very uncomfortable given the high prices and our expectations. It was a struggle to get the staff’s attention multiple times in order to be served. Overall, we found the price-to-quality ratio disappointing. The quality, variety of the buffet, and service did not justify the high price. In Reykjavik, we’ve experienced better quality and service. Based on our experience, we would not return to this restaurant.
We went in abit late before closing and they were kind enough to still cooked our meals, not rushed and very delicious meals, we were trying to rush eating but they were very accommodatiing and reassuring, very kind and polite staff. We had been doing tours for most of our time in iceland so on our last night we were looking for a decent proper meal and this placed definitely delivered!
We were excited to visit DASS Reykjavík after hearing great things, but our experience was mixed due to unfortunate timing. The space itself is stylish and inviting, with a cozy yet modern atmosphere that immediately sets a good tone. The staff was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. However, several of the dishes we had hoped to try were unavailable — the result of a large party the night before that had left the kitchen low on key ingredients. While we understand that happens, it was disappointing to find so much of the menu out of stock, especially since some of the most popular items were affected. That said, the food we were able to try was well-prepared and flavorful, giving us a sense of the kitchen’s quality and creativity. The presentation was excellent, and what we had was genuinely enjoyable — we just wish we’d had the full range of options to choose from. Given the atmosphere and service, we’d definitely give DASS another chance, hopefully on a night when the full menu is available. There’s clearly talent in the kitchen and potential for a great dining experience — just not quite the one we had this time around.
