Now I know why Pedro Pascal chose this place to visit. I heard stories from other people about this place. I finally came on a gloomy rainy day and OMG that was spectacular. I'm a sucker for eggs benedict and these were the best I ever had. And even though I'm a fan of Braud-style cinammon rolls, the soft buns with frosting here were a dream. Yassss! Will come again.
I visited for dinner, and chose the fish of the day. This was really tasty and well cooked, the whole dish was balanced and satiating. The beer was nice and the atmosphere was lovely.
Lost a customer today .. shame ! I have been a patron for years: not anymore! Extremely rude Spaniard employee at the counter, gave me a “dress down” for taking in a gluten free muffin bought next door to have with “their” pricy cappuccino, after her colleague shortly earlier advised me to do so, being their kitchen closed ( by 2 min only , I’d like to add) and could not “ possibly “ accommodate any food requests to serve that I could eat . A bit of emotional intelligence, empathy , common sense and good manners go a long way in business , dear Kaffihús Vesturbæjar owner. Just a thought! Regards .
Kaffi Vest is located in a building that used to house a pharmacy. They have kept some cabinets and other items from that time which help lend the place a relaxed atmosphere. Very friendly staff. The coffee is good, even great as they claim themselves, and beer and wine are available if you’re in the mood for that. In addition to bread and pastries which are served all day they have lunch and dinner menus consisting mostly of sandwiches, burgers and soup. Update: Kaffi Vest has now become a victim of their own success - the place is constantly busy and now it can take up to 20 minutes to get an espresso. Order drip coffee if you're in a hurry.
A great place for brunch and or coffee. We came here for a holiday and our place were close by and so we had our bunch here. Lovely staff and food. For Iceland’s women’s day, they also gave a free mimosa! Solid 4.
