Off the beaten path Cretan creative restaurant with plenty of touches of the good old times. All dishes were exceptionally executed, taste, temperature, ingredients all bind together for a unique experience. The place itself is picturesque and can serve large parties or a simple date as we had. An extensive wine list consisting mostly of local cretan wines that pair perfectly with the traditional recipes. There are also other terroir wines available but strongly recommended the local ones. Do advise the sommelier over your choice of dishes. Highlight dish was the one that resembled of a “sausage” stuffed with lamb liver.
Absolutely phenomenal. The food is sensational, we found the place by coincidence but we loved everything from the interior design, staff to the food which exceeded our expectations. Tasteful, great atmosphere overall but the food is one to be remembered. The slow cooked lamb and roasted lamb were divine.
The food was sensational! The beef filet and lamb liver was the best we’ve tried so far. The lamb shank was super tasty and tender. We also had the Cretan salad as a side, which complimented the other food really well. 10/10 experience we went to Spora again on the next day.
Spora is a standout dining destination in Heraklion, Crete, offering a refined take on traditional Cretan cuisine within an elegantly designed setting. The restaurant’s interior seamlessly blends modern sophistication with elements that pay homage to Crete’s rich cultural heritage, creating an inviting atmosphere that enhances the dining experience.
Incredible! We came in for a glass of wine and appetizer and ended up staying for a full meal. The service was amazing and made us feel so special! We loved every bite of our food, the ambience, and staff!
