BABETTE CAKE - the crispy edges were ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL. It was caramelised gingerbread crisp that was basically a burst of flavour. The complimentary dish - either soup or bread was a showstopper as well. The fragrance of the potato soup was unforgettable - cheesey and savoury. The wines were delicious - I had the drier Chianti Classico while my madame had the fruitier Chardonnay. The quiche was perfectly cooked, with a layer of cheese wedged between two lovely layers of quiche. Not to mention that it was recommended by our attentive and highly sociable waiter that helped us in every way possible, with our luggage to recommendations, and making us laugh.

Came here on the recommendations of a friend and a salesperson at the nearby shopping area. We opted for the quaint pleasant outdoor seating. Service was very friendly. Food was excellent. One of my best meals in Rome. My partner was somewhat less enthusiastic but still enjoyed the meal. The restaurant provided us complimentary small bowl of soup. Don’t know what was in it but it was delicious. I wanted to lick the bowl. It was better than seafood soup we subsequently ordered. Fried anchovies appetizer was flavorful. I was initially leery of these types of fish, but I ate every bit. The lamb chops were tender and delicious. I wanted to gnaw on the bones! Spiced seafood soup was loaded with fish and shrimp. Very good. Pasta was a bit on the salty side.

At the end of the sweetest little street is Babette. A hidden gem. Impeccable service, pretty decor, and delicious food. Don’t skip the homemade bread. So flavorful. They served it with complimentary soup. Creamy and yummy. There is a large selection of soups, and this made me want to go back for a big bowl. Loved the burrata and anchovy ravioli. One suggestion is to omit the toasted bread on top. It took away from the lusciousness of these pillows of heaven. The sea bass was decent, but i didn’t care for the citrus sauce. Tasted like a base of coconut milk that was unexpected and not in a good way. All was forgiven with the signature Babette cake. Save room for this. Amazing! Warm, lemony, creamy, just perfect.

The courtyard is beautiful and has great atmosphere for a romantic night. The service was attentive and helpful but not overwhelming. Most importantly, food is very delicious! Price is a little higher but reasonable for the quality of food and service. In my opinion, the perfect place to impress your date.

This beautiful cafe-restaurant has the most delicious breakfast menu with the perfect juicy omelette and different kinds of toasts. Its huge court is calm and comfortable. A cool escape for hot summer days.
