We went there since we had a good impressions the previous times we went there . This time we were a bit disappointed: - the waiting time: between the ordering and the primi piatti One full hour passed. Ok, the were some antipasti for a few of us and focaccia snack for all of us, but it felt simply to long. The restaurant was not even half full. - if you order the Fish soup (tasty), but only the dessert spoon was on the table, no extra dish for the shells. Something is missing... - most dishes were done well, technically fine but no extra efforts... Some dishes labeled as spicy on the menu were not spicy at all... Hopefully the future is more like the past!
The atmosphere is calming and beautiful, the staff is attentive, and they all do an amazing job. I loved all of my visits! The pasta, the fish, and, of course, the pizza are delicious! And the wine list is amazing! It's had to find a better one in Bolzano. I can highly recommend a visit.
Comically terrible dinner at Marechiaro. Easily the worst gambero rosso I’ve ever had. I cannot recommend this restaurant, especially after being charged for an accidental wine glass breaking. Nor have I heard in my life charging a customer for breaking a wine glass.
I do not recommend Marechiaro. The Gambero Rossi did not meet expectations. It was not good. One of our stemware broke, not our fault, and they charged us 45 euro, we asked to have the charge removed but they charged the card for the full amount anyway. The check came and it was impossible to decipher because the charges didn’t match what we ordered, nor some of the prices on the menu, and the server was of no help. For €130pp, it was a very unpleasant experience. Amazing oysters and good pasta. The pizza oven was not operating during our visit.
I dined alone and the service was quick and the waiter let me taste the wines before choosing as I was wanting a local wine and was not familiar with the wines of the area. As I don't speak Italian the waiter made an effort to speak in English which was great. My prawns were fresh and could have only been improved with a sauce but lemon and olive oil were on offer and it all tasted great.
