Very fresh cornet of Calamari but quantity is very small for 12 euros (100 grammes).
Dear friends, A small story from Camogli, where we stopped for lunch at Frittura Marina, a place that feels as though it has been there forever, serving the freshest catch with Genoan warmth and generosity. The food was, of course, excellent — light, crisp, and seasoned with the essence of the sea. In a moment of triumph, I held up my plate against the sparkling Ligurian backdrop, only for a squadron of seagulls to descend and carry it off in an instant. A word of caution: they are swift, bold, and utterly shameless. Admire the view, by all means, but guard your fritto as if it were treasure. What could have been a disaster quickly turned into a lesson in hospitality: the owner, with a smile and not a hint of fuss, replaced everything free of charge. A small gesture, perhaps, but one that revealed the spirit of the place. Wanting to show my thanks, I ordered him an Ichnusa, and we raised a glass together. Cin cin, indeed. If you find yourself wandering the Ligurian coast, Frittura Marina is worth a detour. Go for the food, stay for the kindness (and keep an eye on the sky).
What a wonderful little spot. Amazing food at a value price. As they say "the fish is so good, even the seagulls love it" 😃
This was the perfect lunch for me! I ordered a Cone filled with Calamari and it tasted so fresh and wasn’t oily. Squeeze that lemon and that’s all you need basically. I’ll probably be back tomorrow for more.
The staff Martina is amazing and lovely! We ordered mix fried seafood, so fresh and tasty. Highly recommended!
