One of the best meals we had in Italy. Fantastic wine, pasta and dessert. Fresh seafood served with locally sourced ingredients. Pistachio fondant was out of this world
The best restaurant in Camogli, probably my favourite in Italy, to the extent that having recently attended a wedding 2 hours away we decided to stay a night in the town partly to have an excuse to return here. We came four years ago, and returned earlier this week, and it is just as good as we remembered. The restaurant itself is relaxed and informal, situation one street behind the coastal walk so just away from the more touristy places. Both food and wine are exceptional. The menu is Italian with a creative spin, and the ingredients and attention to detail are to an exceptionally high standard. I had the scallops to start followed by the steak. As you’ll see from the pictures, the meals are simple but expertly crafted. The service is knowledgable and friendly, when we came a few years back they recommended a bottle of wine based on our preferences and they matched it so perfectly we came away with three bottles and then bought a crate online (Praesidium 2015). As soon as we asked about the wine he immediately knew which one we were talking about, but informed us it was the 2019 vintage, which was equally lovely. This cost €37, now we live in NYC I don’t think I would be able to find an equivalent quality wine for less than $200 in a restaurant. The desserts are wonderful, the pastry fresh and crumbly. My partner has the pistachio tart, which has a gooey pistachio center, and it is one of the greats. This is a truly fantastic restaurant, suitable for formal or informal dining, and at a price point which is affordable and no more expensive that any of the tourist spots one street away. Eating here would be my number one recommendation for what you should put on your itinerary if you come to Camogli. Only open in the evenings, and booking recommended, though we came on a Tuesday in May at 9:30pm and there was plenty of space. Five stars all round, very easily.
Came here for dinner. Would recommend a reservation to make sure you can get a seat, but you can also walk in. Excellent wine selection and they are very good at directing you to what you are looking for. Knowledgeable with many bottle options. Dinner was very good, we split a pasta dish and each had a meat dish to follow.
A waitress at Ducale, Genova, recommended us on a day trip to Camogli. The 2 guys there were friendly and fast, the food was delicious, very high quality and fresh, our dishes were so tasty and flavorful. However, the best of all was the Pistachios "Lava" cake (but they call it "pie"). Definitely it will be my inspiration after this trip.
One of the best restaurants in town. They have both very good food and wine. Food was very delicious (raw seafood was top as well the spaghetti with sea urchin and bottarga). Restaurant has a very big selection of different kind of wines and the waiter is providing detailed information to them. Also for aperitivo I recommend this restaurant. The snacks which are provided are delicious, too. We regret that we came here only on our last day of our stay in Camogli. Otherwise we would dine here more often.
