This is exactly what I expected to find when I dreamt of having dinner in Italy. The truffle tagliolini tasted sooo creamy and flavourful, it really worths a try!! We also ordered beef filet with porcini mushrooms. It wasn't the florentina beef we expected but it was pretty good too. We ordered medium rare but I think it's slightly too raw. Nonetheless, the beef filet still tasted good and I'd recommend it if you have a tighter budget. We entered the store quite early (5-6pm) but it gets filled up quite quickly and maybe a reservation would be needed if you plan to come at a later time.

10/10 recommend. Everything is absolutely delicious. We were in Florence for a total of 6 nights and dined there 4 out of the 6 nights. We just had to keep coming back bc we had a goal to try every thing in their menu. Only reason we didn’t do the other two nights bc we were too tired to go out and eat dinner lol!

It was the first restaurant we chose to eat for our first night in Florence and for the rest of our holidays we didn’t want to book anywhere else. It is the perfect, most authentic Italian restaurant. We had dinner 3 days in a row and every plate was so delicious! We’re not regretting that we didn’t eat anywhere else. I totally recommend trying the burrata stuffed ravioli with the best tomato sauce that I ever tried, the caesars salad and the pasta with the wild boar sauce. The prices were very reasonable. Also the stuff was very kind and helpful. And the atmosphere very calm and cozy. If we’re ever getting back in Florence, we’re surely going back to Il Morellino! Bravissimo!

Top tier, and consistently so. The crostini with chicken liver pate was incredibly rich and balanced, far superior to others we have tried. The tartufo pasta was fragrant and creamy, The octopus gnocchi was so tender and went well with the umami from the octopus and tangy kick from the sauce. The seafood pasta was just packed with seafood umami flavour. Burrata with oranges and local honey - wow - a real art of balance that allowed my madame to enjoy burrata, something that has been difficult to achieve. Service was that of quiet professionalism - respectful and dignified. We love this place, perhaps the best that we have had in Italy.

This place truly deserves its outstanding reputation (average 4.9 rating from ~850 reviews as of 2025). I must say—it’s absolutely worth it! The dishes were AMAZING—especially the truffle tortellini, which was simply wow. The service was perfect: the staff were attentive, friendly, and happy to consult with us to choose the right dish based on our preferences. Another highlight was the timing: the food was prepared quickly but without compromising quality, making it an ideal stop while exploring the city. Overall, an exceptional dining experience. Highly recommended!
