Even though I’m not usually into this kind of atmosphere, I felt incredibly comfortable here. The food was fantastic — full of flavor, homemade, and prepared with real passion. You can tell that the people working here truly love what they do. The drink selection, especially the beer list, is one of the most impressive I’ve ever seen. Make sure to book in advance — the place is small, and locals who know about it always reserve tables. One more thing: the photos of food in other reviews don’t do it justice, simply because the lighting inside isn’t ideal for pictures. But trust me, the food is absolutely worth it — delicious, genuine, and made with care.

La Taverna del Metallo in La Spezia is an absolute gem. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and while great metal music is always playing, the place is just as perfect for those who aren’t necessarily fans of the genre. The food is outstanding, both in taste and originality, making every dish feel like a special experience. Service is flawless — the staff are warm, genuinely kind, and constantly smiling, which makes the visit even more enjoyable. If you’re spending even just one night in La Spezia, this spot is a must-visit and you definitely won’t be disappointed. One important tip: make a reservation, because it’s full every night. Fortunately, booking for the next day is usually no problem if you call ahead.

Amazing pub a must have visit when in the area. The staff was just great, super friendly and welcoming. You felt like they wanted you to enjoy your evening. The beer just as good cold and refreshing! I had the scottish beef stew with veggies and omg i have NEVER eaten something like this. So tasty and delicious the meat melted in my mouth. My friend had the gnocchi which were also delicious. Stepping into this pub you feel like you left italy, music, ambience and overall atmosphere were an absolute joy.

We ate dinner here based on the many amazing reviews and we’re not disappointed. Like others, we were slightly tired of the touristy places and looking for something authentic and original. Taverna did not disappoint. Best service I have had in Italy by people that care and love what they do. We were offered some amazing local wine. We shared several plates and all were perfectly cooked, flavourful and tasty…not to mention very well priced. A truly memorable and outstanding experience in a county of amazing food. By the way, I was a bit worried that the music would be overpowering (never been to a heavy metal restaurant before) and it was unobtrusive and nicely playing in the background. Bravo team. Great meal and experience.

I stayed in one of the rooms upstairs and made a reservation to the tavern twice during my three night stay (it was so good that we had to go back). They service was awesome, we never had a problem making a reservation, and the food and beer were delicious. It's the best restaurant the area. The others look too touristy or not of good quality. This place sells some great food and the beer selection is one of the best I've seen. Beware, most of their menu is pork/pig options, although I do not eat pork products I was able to walk away from that restaurant full and happy with some great options to choose from. Though this is not a place for vegans or vegetarians.
