We found this during our weekend trip in Lucca by walking past it. The pappa al pomodoro was delicious and genuinely one of the best things I had in Italy. Attentive staff who shared some Limoncello with us at the end of the night. Would've came back if we had been in town longer.

The owner, Grazia, is a delightful, welcoming woman. As is her whole staff. I was introduced to excellent Lucchese cuisine-patiently and with great attention-by Grazia. I had a delicious tomato basil soup, Tuscan beef stew, and cheesecake.

A month in Lucca and this was our best meal. The staff is kind and welcoming and the pasta is absurdly good. The manager (a beautiful greyhound) was quite charming and really made us feel at home.

A little gem just steps away from the crowds of Piazza dell’Anfiteatro — and worlds better. We lucked out with a table and were rewarded with a soothing starter of potatoes and cheese, followed by shockingly good pici with pistachio pesto and a fantastic Tortello Lucchese. Lovely wines, warm service, and a vibe worth crossing half of Europe for.

We had a great experience today in this typical Taverna. The food is great and there is a fantastic atmosphere. Highly recommended!
