Fantastic enoteca where the employees know their collection and have sourced some very interesting wines from both inside and outside Italy. The food is delicious and the staff is very helpful to find the right bottle for you.
Great wine selection, good atmosphere and great service. Food deserves special attention - that was a big surprise for a place more about wine that food. You can feel through the dishes chef’s ideas for kitchen in Tomkat. Great tartare, slow cooking meet - not overcomplicated but not simple in one moment. (Edit) - unfortunatelly second visit was a little bit worst about the food - we could feel absence of the chef. But still nice place to visit!
Great wine! Great food! We had the pork ribs, and they were bloody amazing!! The sauce with the ribs i couldn't get enough of, I wish I had saved some bread for dip. The staff were great and very helpful, considering I almost never drink wine and wouldn't know good wine if it bit me in the behind. We went back 2 nights in a row and enjoyed every minute! It's definitely a must visit if visiting Lucca!!
Great setting with a nostalgic mix of seventies & eighties music (The Clash, Joy Division, David Bowie,…). The host really knows his wines & spirits and offers a great explaination with every wine. We had the Radikon Pinot Grigio which complemented our dishes very well. If you’re ever in Lucca, be sure to pass by Tomkat or order a some wine at Stelt! 🍷
This was an exquisite tasting experience that you probably won't find anywhere else in Lucca. Honestly these were some of the best flavors I've ever tasted. The owners really know their stuff and are very kind and personable. They will guide you through the food based on which wine you choose, offering insight into the origin and profile of the ingredients and how they'll compliment the wine. Having so many vintages from Bordeaux is a very unique feature of this place and I'd highly recommend trying a bottle or two. There are so many to choose from and the prices are actually very affordable for what you're getting. Another highlight is the atmosphere. They kept the historic medieval brick walls synonymous with the area and contrasted it with a bright modern look. If you're thinking about dropping in do not hesitate!! These are great people and they'd love to have you.
