Ortika coffee & food

As soon as I saw the words “flat white”, I knew I was in for some caffeinated heaven. The pursuit of coffee in Italy is more complicated than it might seem. Asking for a “flat white” is often met with incomprehension so I have usually asked for a cappuccino “doppio”and that has usually given an acceptable result. A flat white (according to me) is a double shot of espresso topped with hot, but not frothy, milk. All of this was irrelevant as the lady behind the counter knew exactly what to do. The coffee was perfect! It transpires that she was the co-owner and had run a cafe in Tasmania!! So if you’re in Mantova, you have only one destination for your coffee: Ortika!! By far the best coffee I have had in Italy!! PS also had some carrot cake which was excellent.

Needed to get some work done and had some coffees over here. Love the origami art :) You can try to fold them yourself if you feel like.

A little taste of New Zealand and the pacific in the heart of Mantova. Great flat white coffe and carrot cake.

Lovely little spot for breakfast. Dined here twice during our stay in Mantova and both times it was very busy inside and outside. Food was delicious, fresh and tasty. The heavy metal music was a little loud one morning which made it a little difficult to hear conversations.

I rarely make such bold statements but the coffee we had here was literally THE BEST I’ve EVER had. The croque monsieur and avocado toast with salmon were amazing too. Also, I really appreciated how clean it was — they seem to clean up right after each guest leaves. One little question to owners: Is retail delivery of ground coffee to France possible? Well, I bought one bag of coffee from you, but it’s going to run out soon — it’s just too good 😋
