We had no expectations, we’re a bit confused about the beach theme with surf boards etc and as an Australian did not want to have to explain my lack of surfing prowess. We need not have worried, it was an amazing lunch, great wine and very friendly staff who just made this place memorable. My language skills are improving but still not great, but it is so refreshing to have the waiter offer to speak Italian if we prefer even though his English was perfect! This is the sort of place you need to settle in for an afternoon of fine wine and good Tuscan food and company.
Restaurant in a small village called Dell'abat. Wonderful, courteous and professional service, delicious food, excellent wine. Highly recommended.
We happened upon Vineria Aperta two years ago and immediately made it a connection. We became wine club members then. When we returned to the area two weeks ago we knew we’d visit them again. The food is amazing, the wine tasting always delicious and informative plus the environment and interactions with the staff were perfect. We enjoyed seeing their cellar where the stock wines from all regions of Italy. Hence their name Landscape Drinkers. You will always remember your time home, don’t wait to visit!
We had such a wonderful experience here! The food was absolutely excellent — full of flavor and beautifully prepared. The staff were incredibly friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. On top of that, the atmosphere was just perfect — cozy yet lively, the kind of place you want to linger. Highly recommend!
A Culinary Highlight of Our Italian Trip From start to finish, this restaurant delivered an unforgettable dining experience—by far the best food we had throughout our time in Italy. The service stood out immediately, especially the gentleman who guided us through the wine selection. Every dish we ordered was exceptional, but the real standout was the salad—without question, the best we have ever had. The flavors were vibrant, fresh, and completely elevated. We were delighted to learn that the ingredients were all grown by the restaurant itself, which explains the depth and brightness of each bite. It wasn’t just a salad—it was a showcase of what simple, honest ingredients can become when handled with care. This is a place we would return to in a heartbeat. Warm, knowledgeable service, locally sourced ingredients, and dishes that truly celebrate Italian cuisine—a must-visit for anyone who appreciates food at its finest.
