Disappointing – Mold Smell and Overpriced Food We found this sushi place based on glowing reviews and decided to give it a try. Arrived right after opening, we were the only guests and got a table for four. To use the bathroom, you have to go one floor down. The lower floor is nicely designed, clearly done with taste, but there’s a strong smell of mold as soon as you enter. It feels damp and unpleasant — really killed the vibe. We still stayed and ordered food, but it didn’t get any better. The €18 roll was almost all rice with barely any filling. My son ordered tempura shrimp — listed as €8.50 on the menu — but we were charged €22.50 on the bill. Later, another group arrived with a reservation. The staff initially said they had no record of it and tried to turn them away. Only after the guests started complaining and showing their confirmation were they seated. It all looked very unprofessional and poorly managed. Mold smell in a restaurant is a serious issue. This place should definitely be inspected by health authorities. Not recommended.

What a gorgeous Japanese (fused with a touch of Italian) restaurant this is! Modern, serene, cosy and run by the star of the show, Mame Ostrichina herself: Monica. Making all of the food fresh and from scratch, you can watch her roll your sushi through the open kitchen's glass walls. And what sushi it is! We were a vegan and non-vegan couple, and my Parmigiana Sushi was so good I devoured all eight pieces faster than would be considered polite. As did my partner with her non-vegan selection. Speaking of Japanese-Italian fusion, the vegan arincine (made with sushi rice) came with the most amazing cashew cream we've ever tasted. In hands this good, I had to try the Japanese cabbage pizza, which was an explosion of savoury and umami goodness. This was the best - and best priced - meal we had in Italy - Mame Ostrichina should be listed in Michelin Guide ASAP!

Service was excellent, the atmosphere was beautiful and the food was prepared with care. You can tell food is a passion here! We had Vegan PATACONES (Fried plantain with sauces), SUSHI VEGAN URAMAKI MIX, and SPAGHETTI FJUTI NERANO STYLE (Spiralized Zucchini with Vegan Pesto and Almond Cashew Cheese). Everything was truly amazing, not only the best food in Italy, the best food I've had anywhere!

We found this gem completely by chance while searching for vegan options nearby, and I’m so glad we did. We didn’t have a reservation, but the owner welcomed us in with such kindness. We had a few dishes in mind, but she gently suggested switching a couple of things based on flavor pairings, and wow… she absolutely nailed it. Every single bite was incredible. We left so full, but honestly just happy and grateful. The space itself is beautiful, especially the downstairs area, which has such a unique and cozy vibe. You can tell so much thought and care went into every detail, from the food to the atmosphere. Wishing her all the success in the world. She’s created something truly special here, and I can't wait to come back!

The food was fantastic - we went for fish fusion and sushi and a dessert. The lady who served and prepared (some of) the food gave an expert advice on the best choices and had a warm yet self-assured aura. The ambiance was serene and the whole experience was full of nice details. Something different but definitely worth trying!
