So I’m in love with this place! We found this gem in the heart of our own city and it’s strange we didn’t know about it. The atmosphere was very nice. The staff were super kind and helpful. The restaurant was colorful and cozy. The menu wasn’t big but we weren’t disappointed at all. You can’t find appetizers on the menu but actually they get you some themselves right at the start. We ordered a first course with some sort of pasta with deer meat. My husband wasn’t a fan of the pasta being a bit crunchy but I was out of my mind! I just loved it! The pasta, sauce and meat all tasted great. It was a unique dish. Only the “fave” (grean beans) were a bit bitter but still good. Another yummy part was the dessert. We ordered Clafoutis and it was the first time for me and I fell in love. Very fresh and delicious. I recommend this place 100% and we will absolutely go back there soon.

Food and services are incredible! Every dishes are surprising me. The meet is perfectly tender! It looks like a Michelin restaurant!

The food was too good for photos. But this place needs a review. Pistoia is an unknown gem in tuscany… and the best town for foodies. Was so excited to find this place. Seasonal, simple menu, with lovely and imaginative twists. And such a lovingly curated, interesting but not overwhelming wine list - with a load of small-scale production finds. Selected antipasti as a welcome, a porcino mushroom stuffed with ricotta, slow cooked tomatoes and a delightful seafood and herb spaghetti. The chocolate dessert was sublime. Lovely people. If you venture outside the well-known sala area to find this place, you will not be disappointed!

Passing through Pistoia on a visit and just happened upon this gem. La Sostanza is a cozy restaurant with rustic charm, and the food is exceptional. The menu offers a selection of regional wines and locally-inspired dishes with thoughtful preparation. I started with the pappardelle with nana sauce—it was even better than my grandmother's! And the pistoia-style rabbit as a main dish was very tasty. The meats are all bio, and you could taste the chef's passion in every bite. I'm looking forward to returning to La Sostanza on my next visit.
