Vicolo Rimini

Our first night in Rimini and a meal we won’t forget! The waiter made wonderful recommendations and we loved everything we ordered except the dessert- the chocolate cake was a little dry and boring. We got the salad with apple which was simple but nice. The grilled octopus was wonderful. The peasant with truffle and the tagliatelle with truffle were both amazing! We also got the roasted potatoes to eat with the meat- wow!! We also had a great local wine and we really liked the olives and focaccia they brought out. Highly recommend!

An absolute gem of a restaurant in Rimini. Its a lovely setting amidst cosy and romantic setting amongst quiet cobbled streets. The service here is second to none, the staff were so friendly, attentive and provided really great recommendations for wine and food when asked. The food itself was terrific from start to finish, the best cheese board we had in our trip to Rimini, we got copious amounts of truffle with starters and mains and paired with a truly great selection of reds.

We booked here for an evening dinner on the day we landed. Wow! What a fantastic, wholesome, attentive, delicious dinner. The street as you approach is idillic with the classic Italian alleys and the tables are neatly tucked along the sides. The wine selection was excellent, my wife is a self taught so Mellor) sommelier and when we ordered a 2019 Brunello, our host suggested a non-listed bottle (pricey but well worth it, we later learned that buying this in the UK would cost the same as we bought it in the restaurant which really shows the value). We enjoyed some sharer platters and a pasta each, both with rich, delicious truffle. Vicolo was a fantastic experience and perfect for a romantic date night or if you're wanting to experience a true Italian dining experience

The food was mostly good. The carbonara was overcooked, almost like scrambled egg and a little under seasoned. The ragu was nice and so was the prawn and pork cheek, this dish was actually delicious. Unfortunately we felt like the majority of servers were trying to upsell their most expensive dishes then when you didn’t comply they became disinterested in you and the service went from 10/10 “my friend, anything you want” to almost ignoring you. The service seemed to prefer a certain type of clientele, the type who order €60 wine, lots of courses and lean towards the truffle heavy menu. There was a service charge but despite this the waiter with the colourful beads asked for a tip. We also didn’t get the complimentary candy at the end. Reply: you are confusing us with other customers. We got no free dessert and we didn’t even use the bathroom. Based on your reply I think it’s obvious why customer service got one star. Wow.

We had a wonderful lunch here The staff (owners) were so friendly. Sabrina’s English was exceptional where our Italian isn’t great. She made us feel very welcome and comfortable. The pace of the courses was well designed, we never felt rushed and felt able to have a lovely leisurely lunch. The food quality was exceptional, so fresh and full of flavour. The portions were incredibly generous. A lovely wine selection. We had a lovely chat with the couple at the end of our meal and enjoyed a delicious aperitif with them.
